A day with Mindililwo Special School
The Momi Foundation team spent a day with the pupils and teachers of Mindililwo Special School, sharing gifts, cake, music and dance.

On Saturday 25 May 2024, the Momi Foundation team spent a day with the pupils and teachers of Mindililwo Special School. We came to listen, to celebrate, and to give a little back to a school that does so much for the children in its care.

Gifts for the school
The day began outside, where the team handed over donations to the school. Pupils, teachers and volunteers gathered in the compound to receive them together.
Cake, music and dance
Inside the school hall, the celebrations carried on with cake shared between the pupils and the team, then music and dancing that filled the room.

Every child included
A day like this is about belonging. Pupils joined in however they could, cutting the cake, singing, dancing or cheering from the benches, and everyone was part of the celebration. Teachers and volunteers danced right alongside them, and the hall stayed full until the end.

Words of encouragement
Our volunteers also took the microphone to thank the school and encourage the pupils.

Trees for the future
Before the celebrations moved indoors, pupils and volunteers planted trees together in the school compound, read the full story in Planting trees at Mindililwo Special School.
Why we visit schools
Community is one of Momi Foundation's pillars. Visiting schools lets us listen to teachers, meet the learners we work for, and plan our next steps together with the school, seeing where a little support makes the biggest difference, from school fees to computers.
Thank you to the teachers and pupils of Mindililwo Special School for welcoming us. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and days like this remind us why.
