A story rooted in Kapsowar, Marakwet.
Momi Foundation began as a community response — a small group of neighbors, teachers, and farmers asking what it would take to give the next generation a real chance in the highlands of Marakwet.
Our story
What started as informal sports days for local youth and quiet study circles for students grew, year by year, into a grassroots foundation working across three pillars: youth development, education and technology, and climate-smart agriculture.
Today, Momi Foundation supports football clubs like Kipkunur FC, runs scholarships and digital skills training, and helps farmers in Marakwet adopt modern beekeeping and sustainable practices — all while staying close to the people, place, and purpose that started it.
Mission & values
Our mission is simple: empower Kenyan communities to lead their own transformation. These are the values that keep us honest.
Community Empowerment
We listen first. Every program is shaped with — not for — the people it serves.
Integrity
Transparent operations, honest reporting, and accountability to the communities and partners that trust us.
Sustainability
Building local capacity, climate-resilient livelihoods, and programs designed to outlast any single season.
People behind the work
A mix of community leaders, educators, and organizers — most of them from Marakwet themselves.
